VN - Head Nurse

Claire is Head Nurse, she has worked at PSP since 1993, and qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1997. Claire is a qualified assessor, and supports the trainee nurses with their studies. Her favourite aspects of the job are assisting in theatre and nursing patients in hospital.  Claire lives in Staplehurst with her Husband, Rob, her daughter Daisy, two Border Terriers; Taffy and Bettty and two rescue cats, Peggy and Billy.  Claire's hobbies include, as much travelling as she can possibly fit in, walking Taffy and Betty, going to the gym and also buying shoes!

Harriet has worked at PSP since July 2007 and started her Veterinary Nurse training in September 2008 at Canterbury College and passed her exams this summer, meaning she is now a fully qualified veterinary nurse.  She enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing and loves the variety of work which the job has to offer.

Harriet has an HND and a degree in Equine Studies which she studied at Writtle College, Essex.  She has worked in Australia and America with horses, she has also worked in Newmarket on a thoroughbred stud during the breeding season and attended lectures at The National Stud.

Harriet grew up in Kathmadu, Nepal where her father worked as an Agricultural Economist, she has a real love of travel and once qualified wishes to travel more with her work. Harriet is a Nichiren Buddhist and spends alot of her spare time carrying out SGI activities which are working towards creating a peaceful society based on the values and ideas of Nichiren Buddhism.

Harriet's lives in Egerton with her two cats Ruby and Indie, she also has a horse called Fleur, and another cat called Bilbo which lives at the family farm. Her interests and hobbies include: practicing and studying Buddhism, riding her horse, travelling, listening to music, socialising, reading and baking cakes for work!

Amy joined us in February 2008 and undertook her veterinary nurse training and qualified in 2010. She lives in Hawkhurst with her partner Luca and their cat Bob who they rescued.  Amy enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing, she has a particular interest in working with cats and she enjoys organising and running the PSP weight clinics.  Amy has recently taken on the new role as a clinical coach and is currently supporting one of our trainee nurses.

Lisa Is a fully qualified nurse. She owns a Border Terrier called Hobbs and a Morkie called Millie, both of whom she does dog agility with. Lisa recently got married to her long term boyfriend Andy, of 12 1/2 years!

Estella Toomey

SVN

Estella is in her final year of training to be a veterinary nurse and her main areas of interest are Greyhounds and Guinea Pigs! Estella started at PSP in September 2010 and moved to Hawkhurst in February this year, along with her best friend and 7yr old Greyhound, Shania! Estella enjoys walking and would like to say the same about her couch potato dog! Estella has always loved animals and following work at a Greyhound rehoming kennels for two years, took the progression into Veterinary Nursing. Estella orginally studied Art and now enjoys this as a hobby, along with walks on the beach, pottery, camping, seeing live music and spending time with friends and family

Trainee vet nurse

Lorrae joined us in December 2010 and started training as a nurse in September 2011. She has worked with spay and neuter  charities in Turkey and Thailand and has a keen interested in animal welfare and canine behaviour. She has a degree in history and a CELTA from the University of Liverpool. Lorrae has moved to Cranbrook with her Husband Ed and their rescue dog Chaz. Out of work she enjoys reading, baking, hiking and participating in conservation work.

Trainee vet nurse

Heidi lives in Maidstone along with her family, her 30+ chickens and 4 guinea pigs.  She has recently begun her training at Hadlow college, where she is studying to become a qualified veterinary nurse. She joined the practice in January 2011 after having started as a work experience student at PSP and other practices. In her spare time she enjoys studying, spending time with friends and family, the gym, reading and shopping.
