An active member of the British Veterinary Dental Association, he has
been on their referral list for many years and is able to carry out
complex orthodontics, endodontics and periodontics. In spite of the
pressure of referral work, John also sees many first opinion cases in
small animals

for the Agricultural Training Board in the late 1970’s. He now regularly
lectures on Small Animal Veterinary Cardiology and Practice Management
both in the UK and abroad, most notably Novartis’ launch of Program Plus
(Sentinal) in Australia, where he spoke in front of large veterinary
audiences in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Brisbane.
John is married with two children and an adult son and has a passion for
sport, playing tennis regularly for Headcorn in Kent. He qualified as a
soccer referee whilst at university because he was unable to get into
the college team. He also attempts to play one round of golf every 10
years but describes his golf as “cross country hockey”. In 1999, he
