Meet the team who will be looking after your pet
Every member of our team is carefully selected for their skill, knowledge and expertise in looking after animals but also for their ability to communicate with clients and colleagues. We all frequently attend courses and seminars to keep up with current developments in research and treatments, to be sure that we can provide the best possible service to you and your pet.
John Sauvage qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 1973 and obtained his certificate in Small Animal Cardiology in 1990.
John sees cardiac referrals, including ECGs from all over the world, he also has an interest in veterinary dentistry, and is able to carry out complex orthodontics, endodontics and periodontics. In spite of the pressure of referral work, John also sees many first opinion cases in both large and small animals. He obtained a BA (Hons) degree from the Open University in 1987 after studying history of art and science, computing and philosophy
John also has wide experience as a teacher and lecturer both in the UK and abroad.
John is married with two sons and a daughter the Practice Manager Rhianna. He has a passion for sport, playing tennis regularly for Headcorn.. He qualified as a soccer referee whilst at university and obtained his advanced open water scuba diving qualification. John enjoys gardening but prefers growing edible plants and looking after his grass tennis court.
Daniel graduated from Veterinary School Universidad Mayor in Santiago, Chile in 2014, obtaining membership with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons by examination in 2015.
He spent a year working in a busy equine referral hospital before joining Pierson Stewart & Partners in June 2017.
Daniel has a strong work ethic, a sensitive attitude, and enjoys working with both small & large animals.
He is very excited to join the team and to continue to develop his knowledge and skills in all areas.
Outside of work Daniel enjoys spending time with his friends and travelling.
Catherine graduated from the Univeristy of Liverpool in July 2016. She spent a lot of time at Pierson and Stewart as a student and has returned to us after six months travelling New Zealand. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary work and is particularly keen to broaden her small animal knowledge and skills. Originally from a dairy farm in Frittenden she knows the local area well and is pleased to be back home after her travels! In her spare time she enjoys socialising with friends and running with Nim and Hovis the family dogs.
Rhianna Sauvage FdA
Rhianna started working for the practice back in 2011 after finishing an NVQ level 3 in Theatrical Hair and Make Up.
She has recently gained a foundation degree with the Open Univeristy and is continuing on to gain a BA(Hons). She enjoys taking her little rescue dog Google for long walks with her husband, socialising with friends and loves a bit of retail therapy, Rhianna recently got married July 2016.
Laura joined the practice in November 2015 as our Head Nurse. Since qualifying in 2009, she has worked in several practices expanding in her area of interest in animal behaviour and has gained two diplomas in Animal Behaviour and Animal Psychology.
Laura has also worked with DEFRA to become an equine artificial insemination technician.
Laura particularly enjoys holding nurse consultations, puppy parties and the training of our student nurses.
Outside of work she remains busy with Kobe, her Doberman who is more like a child than a dog and also manages the family stud farm breeding Welsh Cobs and regularly competing in Carriage driving. She has recently performed at the Queens 90th Birthday celebration.
Anna Cairns joined the PSP team in March 2016, and has been been nursing since 1996!
She qualified in 2001 and has been working in practise ever since. Both in day practice and in emergency and critical care work. Her main interests are in Dentistry and critical care patients.
Out of work she lives in a small village with her husband, 2 Labradors and 2 rescue senior cats that she has picked up along the way. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and going on long dog walks with her dogs, running, cycling and playing netball.
Hannah joined the team in December and has been a qualified nurse since 2013. She has a rescue dog called Stanley and they enjoy long muddy walks together. She also enjoys socializing with friends and going to beach in her spare time.
Stacey is a trainee veterinary nurse and has been with us since June 2015. Stacey will be starting her second year of Nursing at Cantebury College in September 2017.
Stacey has two cats Mischeif and Candy as well as a rabbit called Hunny. In her spare time she enjoys going out for lunch with friends and long walks with her long term boyfriend Ollie.
Courtney used to come in Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings for work experience, and in January she officially joined the team as a trainee veterinary nurse. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her two dogs and has four cats, and has recently got a new puppy.
Courtney also enjoys helping her mum around the house, including helping out with lambing.
Demi started with us in May as a trainee veterinary nurse and will be going to college in September 2018 with Sophie. Demi has a degree in Business and studied at Gloucestershire.
In her spare time enjoys spending time with her horses and long walks.
Sophie started with us in April this year as a trainee veterinary nurse. She will be starting college in September 2018.
Sophie used to be a competitive gymnast and enjoys pole fitness, enjoys socialising with friends and spending time her two dogs.
Di joined the practice back in June 1992 to help cover reception for a two week period and never left! Di helps run the reception team on a full time basis at Cranbrook and also helps cover our branch surgeries as needed.
Di has recently moved to Staplehurst with her husband, and they have been together for 23 years and they finally decided to get married in Las Vegas in August 2015.
She enjoys going running but only when the sun is shinning. Di also loves a bit of retail therapy and a curry a week is a must.
Hilde has worked on reception at Cranbrook for over 11 years, and also helps cover branch surgeries as and when needed.
Hilde lives in Frittenden with he husband and has done for 34 years. They have two grown up daughters both live and work in London. In her spare time she enjoys all gardening, reading and going on long country walks, but most of all enjoys spending time with her family.
Sandra joined the practice in July 2000 as our Tenterden receptionist. Over the years my role has developed to include more administrative work, and I thoroughly enjoy all aspects of my job.
Sandra lives in High Halden with her Border Collie Saffi who is 10 years old.
In her spare time she drives around the country to compete at agility with Saffi. Sandra is also part of a dog display team and has has performed at a lot of the local fetes and has also performed at Discover Dogs and Crufts for the last 3 years. Sandra also enjoys teaching dog agility.
